As I Lay Dying

Industrial Design, Book

Starting with plain text, William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying was redesigned. Using a coffin as a symbol both literally and figuratively, cyanotype printed illustrations were made that show a person swallowing a pill, a mothers womb, or a coffin meandering down a river. A raw poplar slipcase was also built to hold the book: directly symbolizing the coffin that was created in the novel.
